Because we are aware of our social responsibility, sustainability is an inherent part of our company strategy. Our aim is to achieve an optimal balance between economic and social interests.
Our attention is directed towards the use of natural resources, the respectful treatment of animals and maximum food safety.
Socially responsible action is something we take for granted. It also forms the essential basis for all our work. We take our social responsibilities seriously. For this reason we have entered into a partnership with ZNU - the Zentrum für nachhaltige Unternehmensführung [Centre for Sustainable Corporate Management] of the University of Witten-Herdecke.
In its training of sustainability managers in the food sector, ZNU offers an ideal and unrivalled combination of theory and practice. VION is availing itself of this opportunity of giving its staff a scientifically based and well grounded training. The first students, coming from various VION sites, have already started on the programme, and others will be joining them soon.
For nearly ten years now ZNU has been supporting companies (more than ninety of them to date) in their sustainability projects, with a special emphasis on the food sector in the last five years. VION has concluded an exclusive agreement with the innovative and prestigious research institute for the meat sector. This means that when it is a matter of CSR projects, the company will always be able to resort to the most recent scientific findings.
VION takes CSR matters seriously.
